HOW IT STARTED
In 2008, I had a dream that I still remember so clearly to this day.
The doors flung open and in rolled a beautiful three-tier wedding cake. Every detail felt perfect, from the smooth frosting to the delicate finishing touches. As the bride saw the cake for the first time, her eyes filled with tears and her smile said everything. Standing beside it, I realized there was nothing more special than creating something that could make someone feel that happy during such an important moment in their life.
When I woke up, I couldn't stop thinking about it.
That same day, I drove to the craft store, filled my cart with baking supplies, and spent the next 13 hours making my very first fondant cake. It definitely wasn't perfect, but it sparked something in me that completely changed my life.
I later attended and graduated from culinary school for Baking & Pastry Arts and had the opportunity to work at a few bakeries, including Christopher Garren's Cakes from WE TV's Amazing Wedding Cakes, while creating cakes for a few incredible brides and grooms along the way. In 2015, I officially opened IntriCakes and turned my passion into a business.
As life changed and motherhood came into the picture, life and business started to look a little different too. Between constantly sick kiddos, sleepless nights, and trying to balance family life with running a cake business, I found myself needing to be more present at home and taking on less cakes during that season of life.
Then one day, chamoy candy unexpectedly entered the picture.
What started as something small quickly grew into something I never imagined, and before I knew it, people were lining up for my handmade candy mixes. Today, IntriCakes has become a mix of both worlds. Beautiful custom cakes, handmade chamoy candy mixes, and creating treats that bring people together during life's sweetest moments.
No matter what I'm making, everything is created with love, creativity, and so much gratitude for every single person who supports my small business.
